Hoevenol Capsules
Composition 1 capsule contains
238.1-263.2mg of standardised, dry extract of horse chestnut seed
equivalent to 40mg aescin. Indications Symptoms
of various chronic venous insufficiencies such as oedema, nocturnal
cramps, pruritus, pains and feelings of heaviness in the legs,
varicosis and postthrombotic syndrome. Trophic changes (e.g. ulcus
cruris). Posttraumatic and postoperative swelling of the soft tissues
(e.g. after injuries). Contra-indications None
are known. Side-effects In rare cases
mucosal irritation of the gastrointestinal tract may occur. In such
cases it is recommended that Hoevenol Capsules be taken together with meals.

Hoevenol A Gel
Composition 100g contains: 20.0g Arnica
tincture; 15.0g fluid extract of horse chestnut seed (1:1.5;
standardised to 2.5% aescin); 0.2% methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate as a preservative.
Indications Blood circulation disorders, varicose veins,
phlebitis. Contra-indications Known
hypersensitivity to one or more of the ingredients. Side-effects
Following prolonged application eczema may appear. Prolonged
application to damaged skin (due to injuries, ulcus cruris or the
like) may also give rise to oedematous dermatitis with blistering.
Warning Do not store at temperatures
exceeding 25°C !
Presentation Tubes containing 50g and 100g
Hoevenol Emulsion
Composition 100g contains fluid extract
of horse chestnut seed equivalent to 0.28g aescin; 0.18g methyl
salicylate; 0.03g camphor; 0.2% methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate as a
preservative. Indications Peripheral blood
circulation disorders, treatment of varicose symptoms (swellings,
crural ulcers, varicose veins, phlebitis), haemorrhoids and
adjunctive treatment of prostatitis. Contra-indications When
used as a bath: in the case of major skin injuries and unknown skin
diseases, severe feverish and infectious conditions, heart failure
and hypertonia, full baths (irrespective of their ingredients) should
only be taken after consulting a doctor. Side-effects
None are known.

swellings, varicose veins). Contra-indications Known
